A lithium cell stores energy by driving a chemical reaction, and that reaction is also what destroys it. Every cycle moves material that does not move back perfectly. Capacity fades, internal resistance climbs, and eventually the pack is replaced. That is not a defect — it is how the chemistry works.
SETI Power Packs use graphene-infused EDLC supercapacitor cells instead. Charge sits electrostatically on the enormous surface area of a graphene matrix. No reaction takes place, so there is no material to consume and no mechanism for the pack to degrade.
There is no lithium, no cobalt, no phosphate and no liquid electrolyte in a SETI Power Pack. There is also no thermal runaway pathway — not as a safety feature bolted on, but because the chemistry that causes it is absent. What is left is a pack that charges as fast as you can feed it, works from −20°F to 150°F without derating, needs no maintenance schedule, and is still the same pack in thirty years as the day it was installed.
None of these are marketing numbers pulled to sound impressive. They fall out of the physics. A battery has a cycle count because each cycle consumes a little of it; take away the reaction and the cycle count stops being a countdown. It charges in minutes because there is no reaction to wait on. It works at −20°F because there is no electrolyte to thicken and no chemistry to slow down. It needs no maintenance because there is nothing inside it that changes.
The one number people query is the warranty, so it is worth being plain about: the pack is designed for thirty years and warranted for ten. Those are two different commitments and we publish them as two different numbers.
